Participate in Earth Month organized by the Town in partnership with the Whitby Public Library on Saturday, April 27th, 2024, at the Whitby Public Library, Central Library (405 Dundas St W, Whitby) from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m:
1. Attend a Repair Cafe
Do you have a broken household item? Don’t toss it!
Celebrate Earth Month, by bringing your broken/damaged small appliances, computers, electronics, clothes, jewelry, books, and more, to the pop-up Repair Café at Whitby Central Library, Meeting Room 1 on Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. to learn how to repair them with our expert volunteers.
This event is free but slots are limited, register here!
2. Join the Waste Reduction Event
In partnership with the Rotary Club of Whitby, recycle “hard-to-recyclable” items and help reduce your impact on our planet. Bring your old Brita filters, toothbrushes, disposal razors, and pens, markers and highlighters and drop them off at the designated boxes kept in the Library’s Front lobby. No registration is required.

3. The Library’s Earth-Themed Family Storytime and Craft:
From 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. gather around the first-floor fireplace to listen to family-friendly Earth Month themed stories that encourage children to reduce waste, reuse items, and recycle materials. Then from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. children can go to the Children’s Program Room to take part in an Earth Month themed craft. For more Earth Month themed events at the library, visit whitbylibrary.ca
