June is Recreation and Parks Month!

Each June, communities across Ontario celebrate June is Recreation and Parks Month (JRPM).  JRPM is recognized by municipalities, community organizations, and schools as a way of promoting the benefits of being active and recognizing the contribution that recreation and parks make to quality of life.

This year, the Town of Whitby’s Recreation Division have a variety of activities for residents of all ages to participate in. Recreation and Parks themed activities are planned throughout the month that include; Recreation and Parks Month Swag Bags, Webinar with Paralympian Kevin Rempel, virtual programs for all ages and a Play in Whitby Challenge for residents to explore our parks and trails all month long and complete missions around their neighbourhood for the chance to win prizes.
